CCR Rebreathers
We support, dive and train on Closed Circuit Rebreathers or CCR’s since ProTec Dive Center & Advanced Training Facility opened its doors to the public in the year of 2000.
Training can be either done here at our facility or anywhere around the world as we will travel to you, to train you in your local waters. Our CCR diving, support and training may take place in CCR open water diving, in CCR wreck diving, CCR cave diving within our beautiful underwater caves in Mexico or the CCR technical diving environment.
We support CCR diving with a selection of CCR dilluent and oxygen tanks, a selections of spare parts, Co2 absorbent, a selection of bailout tanks as well as oxygen boosted to 3000 psi / 200 bar. We are proud to be DEALERS for the Jetsam Sport and Classic KISS Rebreathers email us if you would more information on purchasing a unit or training on one.

The ADV is a nice safety feature addition during busy events or runaway descents. The HUD is a sweet dream to dive with enabling the diver to watch the Po2 at all times, even the busiest ones.
Type of Rebreather: CCR electronically controlled APECS or manually controlled COPIS with three oxygen sensors but can be used manually with diluent and oxygen inflators mounted on the counterlungs.
Number of handsets: Two hand set electronics for APECS and one for COPIS easy to use menue with excellent milivolt readings to see when the sensors expire or for oxygen calibration. Great display of batteries voltage to see when they are ready for a new set.
Location of main electronics: In the original APECS unit the main electronics are located in the lid right next to the sensors, solenoid and battery compartments.
Information displayed in the handsets: There is the Sherarwater electronics option with decompression information given on the handsets. On non deco versions the Po2 is displayed on the main default screen. Set points can be chosen ranging from Manual to 0.4, 0.7, 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4.
Heads Up Electronics(HUD: Rebreather has serial HUD that works great. Amber blink: Po2 is 1.0 Red blink: Per red blink a Po2 of 0.1 below Po2 of 1.0 Green blink: Per green blink a Po2 of 0.1 above Po2 of 1.0. Sensors: Three Theledyne sensor are used in the original manufacturer version.

Counterlungs and position: Two over the shoulder counterlungs, used to be made out of neoprene but are now of lined denier material, around 5 ltr. Capacity. The inhalation counterlung on the right side has one oxygen inflator connected to the oxygen tank. The exhalation counterlung on the left has the ADV and the dilluent inflator, both connected to the dilluent tank and the overpressure valve at the bottom of the lung which allows for excellent flood recovery. The gas flow and rotation is counter clock wise.
Flood recovery: Good flood recovery due to low overpressure valve in exhalation counterlung. Large water trap in bottom of stack housing.
Diver Training available through: ProTec Dive Center & Advanced Training Facility with Andreas W. Matthes Support locations worldwide: U.S.A., Mexico, Europe, Asia, Australia, Central America, South America.
Special uses of unit: The Megalodon was used for deep diving operations of the Cayman Islands walls, deep cave diving operations in Florida and the Bahamas.
